An Amber-level advisory has been issued for strong winds and rough seas in several sea areas, including Matara to Pottuvil and Chilaw to Kankesanthurai.

The Department of Meteorology stated that gusty winds could reach up to 50 kmph, with seas expected to be rough at times.

The advisory is in effect until noon tomorrow (13). Naval personnel and fishing communities have been urged to remain cautious.
