The case filed against former Defence Secretary Hemasiri Fernando and former Inspector General of Police Pujith Jayasundera over the 2019 Easter Sunday bombings will be called again on 12 June following an order by the Colombo Permanent High Court Trial-at-Bar.

The two are facing charges including criminal negligence of duty for allegedly failing to prevent the attacks despite prior intelligence warnings.

The matter was taken up today before a three-judge bench comprising Justices Priyantha Liyanage, Viraj Weerasuriya and Thilakaratne Bandara.

The court subsequently ordered the case to be recalled on 12 June for the submission of arguments.
