Sarwajana Balaya leader Dilith Jayaweera met International Monetary Fund (IMF) Mission Chief for Sri Lanka Evan Papageorgiou during the latter’s visit to Sri Lanka.

The two discussed Sri Lanka’s economic recovery, the challenges ahead and the importance of sustaining the reforms required to build a stronger and more resilient economy.

Describing the discussion as a “brief and interesting meeting”, Jayaweera said the meeting provided an opportunity to exchange views on the country’s economic recovery and the way forward. “Good to meet and engage with him during his visit to Sri Lanka,” he said.
