Sri Lanka has reached an agreement with Norway to strengthen fisheries monitoring through modern technology, including satellite-based vessel tracking systems.

During high-level talks in Oslo, the two sides discussed enhancing the fisheries sector, combating illegal fishing, and providing specialised training for Sri Lankan officials. 

Sri Lanka was also invited to join a global initiative on food nutrition, supporting research and knowledge exchange in the sector.
