President Anura Kumara Dissanayake has ordered Rs. 1 million in compensation for each family of the 22 victims of the 11 May bus crash in Gerandi Ella, Kotmale. 

Funds have been distributed through Divisional Secretariats in affected areas. 

Around 40 injured passengers remain hospitalized, with some in critical condition.
