Sri Lanka continues to shine as a premier beach destination in Asia, with Mirissa Beach and Bentota Beach earning prestigious spots on Tripadvisor’s 2026 Travelers’ Choice Awards Best of the Best Beaches list. 

Mirissa Beach secured fifth place, while Bentota Beach was ranked seventh, highlighting their popularity among travelers.

The “Best of the Best” designation is awarded to less than 1% of Tripadvisor’s listings and honors destinations that have consistently received outstanding reviews over a year. 

Mirissa Beach, situated on Sri Lanka’s southern coast, is famed for its golden sands, tranquil swimming waters, surfing at the renowned “Mirissa Right” break, and vibrant evenings with seafood restaurants and sunset views from Coconut Tree Hill.

Bentota Beach, on the southwest coast, is celebrated for its water sports such as jet skiing and kitesurfing, along with its soft sands and scenic sunsets ideal for sunbathing and relaxing walks.

The top-ranked beach in Asia this year is Banana Beach in Phuket, Thailand. Other notable beaches in the top ten include Indonesia’s Kelingking Beach, India’s Radhanagar Beach, and the Philippines’ White Beach.
