The Government launched a new initiative today (9) to provide housing and financial aid to families affected by Cyclone Ditwah.
The ceremony was held in Anuradhapura and was attended by President Anura Kumara Dissanayake, who officiated the event.
Under the ‘Rebuilding Sri Lanka’ program, the project aims to assist disaster-affected communities by constructing new homes and offering compensation to those who lost their residences.
The initiative will initially cover the districts of Anuradhapura and Kurunegala.
Specifically, housing developments will be launched in Galnewa and Rajanganaya within the Anuradhapura District, as well as in Nikaweratiya and Rideegama in Kurunegala, according to the President’s Media Division.
