The Colombo High Court (HC) has postponed to December 10 the hearing of the money laundering case filed against Yoshitha Rajapaksa, son of former President Mahinda Rajapaksa, and his grandmother Daisy Forest.
The case was taken up before High Court Judge Rashmi Singappuli, where the accused appeared on bail.
Deputy Solicitor General Janaka Bandara informed the court that all related documents had been submitted to the defense.
President’s Counsel Sampath Mendis, representing the defense, said some requested documents were still pending.
The Attorney General has charged the accused under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act, alleging that between 2009 and 2013, they deposited over Rs. 59 million earned through illegal means into fixed deposit accounts in private banks
