The Joint Opposition, comprising the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP), Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP), United National Party (UNP), National Freedom Front (NFF)and several allied parties, has announced a nationwide campaign beginning with a major rally in Nugegoda on 21 November.

Opposition leaders stated that they plan to hold a series of rallies across the country and likened their united effort to the alliance formed against Hitler during World War II.
