ICC ban possible if parliament intervenes in Sri Lanka cricket: Minister Kanchana Wijesekara

Minister Kanchana Wijesekera has warned that the International Cricket Council (ICC) could impose a ban on Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) if the current political interference in the sport's administration continues.


Minister Wijesekera, a member of a government sub-committee tasked with resolving the crisis, stated that the committee's responsibility is not to select the national team or the administration.


 He added that if the ICC bans SLC, the country's 225 members of parliament should take responsibility for it.


Wijesekara made these comments while speaking about the ongoing parliamentary debate regarding the current situation of Sri Lanka Cricket.
