British actor Jeremy Irons arrived at Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) on 17 June to star in Cage Bird, directed by Chandran Rutnam. 

This marks the first visit by a Hollywood A-lister in over a decade for a local film. 

Tourism officials welcomed Irons, highlighting the film's potential to boost Sri Lanka’s appeal as a film tourism destination.
