Sri Lanka records 100 new cancer cases daily, Health Minister warns

Sri Lanka diagnoses about 35,000 new cancer cases annually, with oral cancer being the most common, Minister of Health Nalinda Jayatissa revealed.


Nearly 30% of drug expenditure goes to costly cancer medicines, he stated urging prevention, early detection, and lifestyle changes to combat rising cancer and other Non- communicable diseases (NCD) cases.
