A man was attacked by a crocodile while he was bathing in the Menik Ganga in the Kataragama police division on Saturday morning (6).

According to the Police, the incident had occurred while the victim was bathing near the second bridge of the Menik Ganga, in Kataragama.

The remains of the victim have been recovered with the assistance of Police lifeguards and officers from the Wildlife Conservation Department.

The identity of the deceased remains unconfirmed as of last evening, and the Police suspect that he is between 30-35 years of age. Kataragama Police are conducting further investigations related to the incident.
