An Emergency Disaster Situation has been declared in the Kandy district as continuous heavy rainfall heightens the risk of floods, landslides, and earth slips.

Officials stated that several areas remain vulnerable due to days of relentless rain, and residents are urged to stay alert and follow safety advisories.
