Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Andrey Rudenko to arrive in Sri Lanka today

Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Andrey Rudenko is scheduled to arrive in Sri Lanka today (31) for an official visit. 


The Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that his visit is primarily to participate in the 11th session of Bilateral Political Consultations between Sri Lanka and Russia.


Rudenko is expected to land in Colombo at 4:00 p.m. today. The upcoming consultation session will be held this Thursday at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs premises, with participation from the Secretary to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Sri Lanka, the Russian Deputy Foreign Minister, and other distinguished representatives from both nations.


The discussions are set to cover a wide range of sectors, including the economy, politics, culture, trade, and tourism.


The Ministry noted that a key focus will be on addressing future challenges and exploring strategies to overcome them.


Andrey Rudenko, who oversees Russia’s Asia-Pacific regional affairs, is scheduled to depart Sri Lanka this Saturday. 


Additionally, a delegation headed by Roman Marshavin, Russia’s Deputy Minister of Energy, arrived in Sri Lanka on March 26 and left on March 28 after several bilateral discussions.
