An International Monetary Fund (IMF) staff mission will arrive in Sri Lanka today (10) to begin discussions on the country’s economic reform programme and broader economic outlook.
The mission, led by Sri Lanka Mission Chief Evan Papageorgiou, will remain in the country until 23 September for the combined Seventh Review under the Extended Fund Facility (EFF) programme and the 2026 Article IV Consultation.
The IMF team will assess Sri Lanka’s progress on reforms and review recent developments in economic growth, public finances, revenue mobilisation, foreign-exchange reserves and other key economic indicators.
The IMF is expected to communicate its findings at the conclusion of the mission on 23 September.
