Dr Jean Arasanayagam, a world-renowned Sri Lankan poet has passed away after a brief illness yesterday (30). The funeral for the esteemed poet and author will be held this Friday (02 August). Dr Arasanayagam contributed immensely towards English Literature in Sri Lanka for exceeding four decades during her lifetime. She was also announced as the winner of the Gratiaen Prize in 2017.
