The Department of Meteorology has issued an Amber advisory for strong winds affecting the Central, Sabaragamuwa, Northern, North Central and North Western provinces, and the Hambantota and Trincomalee districts.

The advisory is valid until 11.00 p.m. tomorrow (08).

Winds of 40–50 km/h are expected at times due to the active south-west monsoon, and the public has been advised to follow future weather advisories.
