The National System Operator (Private) Limited (NSO) says electricity supply has been restored after a temporary disruption in several areas, including Colombo.

Power was earlier disconnected today (30) in around 100 areas due to an imbalance in the national grid.

NSO said the issue was caused by a sudden drop in demand during the Vesak Poya holiday and long weekend.

Electricity supply has now been restored islandwide.
