Ranil, Sajith to hold crucial meeting on Sunday

United National Party (UNP) Leader Ranil Wicremesinghe and UNP Deputy Leader  Sajith Premadasa will meet on Sunday (8) to decide on the candidate for the forthcoming presidential elections, UNP MP and Tourism Minister John Amaratunga told The Sunday Morning. Amaratunga said that senior UNP members had a meeting at Temple Trees today. He said that 15 MPs had attended the meeting including Prime Minister Ranil Wicremesinghe. At the meeting it was decided that Wicremesinghe will meet Premadasa on Sunday and look to reach a consensus on the presidential candidate of the UNP-led United National Front (UNF).
