Showery conditions across Sri Lanka are expected to increase from Tuesday(16), under the influence of an easterly wave, the Department of Meteorology stated.

Several spells of showers are forecast for the Northern, North Central, Eastern, Uva, Central and North Western provinces on Monday(15). 

Showers or thundershowers may also occur in other areas after 1.00 pm.

Fairly strong winds of 30–40 kmph are expected at times in several regions. 

The public has been advised to take precautions against lightning and strong winds.
