The Irrigation Department said 30 major reservoirs and more than 39 medium reservoirs are still spilling following recent heavy rain.
Water releases continue from Rajanganaya, Angamuwa, Deduru Oya and other key reservoirs, though no flood risk has been identified in downstream areas.
The department has begun temporary reconstruction of damaged irrigation structures, including the South Canal of the Rajanganaya Reservoir and the Elahera Yodha Canal.
Baddegama and Ratnapura recorded the highest rainfall of 30–35 millimetres in the past 24 hours.
