NSBM Green University proudly marked its 9th Anniversary on 26th October,
celebrating nearly a decade of excellence, growth, and innovation in Sri Lanka’s higher education landscape.
This significant milestone was commemorated through a series of
special activities held under the patronage of Vice Chancellor, Prof. E. A. Weerasinghe, honouring the university’s inspiring journey and its vision for the future.
The anniversary celebrations began with invoking religious blessings for the university’s continued progress. A series of Religious Blessing Ceremonies was held, starting with a Bodhi Pooja ceremony organized by the NSBM Buddhist Society.
This was followed by a Hindu religious observance by the NSBM Hindu Society, a special cultural event by the NSBM Islamic Society, and a special Holy Mass by the NSBM Catholic Christian Society.
The spiritual segment culminated with an Overnight Pirith Chanting and a Heel
Dane (morning almsgiving).
A major highlight of NSBM's 9th Anniversary was the final agreement signing of NSBM’s newest academic partnership with Southern Cross University (SCU), based in Queensland, Australia.
This landmark agreement strengthens NSBM’s global collaborations and opens a new pathway for Sri Lankan students to earn a prestigious Southern Cross University degree while studying full-time in Sri Lanka.
The partnership marks another proud chapter in the universitys commitment to international collaboration.
In a step towards infrastructure advancement, the Foundation Stone Laying Ceremony was held for the Proposed Civil Engineering Laboratories Complex of NSBM Faculty of Engineering.
The upcoming three-storey facility is set to feature six state-of-the-art Civil
Engineering laboratories, along with modern learning and demonstration spaces and academic offices.
This project symbolizes NSBM’s commitment to academic excellence
and continuous infrastructure development.
