The Cabinet has approved the launch of Phase III of the Mayliddi Fisheries Harbour development project in Jaffna, extending the project timeline to 2027.
This phase will provide vital infrastructure such as electricity, water, fuel stations, net preparation centres, auction halls, and radio communication facilities.
The project is set to benefit fishing communities across the Northern, Eastern, and Southern Provinces, enhancing both regional connectivity and livelihoods.
Phases I and II have already been completed, and this next stage is expected to further strengthen Sri Lanka’s fisheries infrastructure.
