MP Hesha Withanage has been elected Chair of the Sectoral Oversight Committee on Education, Manpower and Human Capital.

The election took place during the committee's inaugural meeting in Parliament.

His nomination was put forward by MP V.S. Radhakrishnan and seconded by MP Chanaka Madugoda.
