Former Sri Lanka fast bowler Lasith Malinga has been appointed Consultant – Fast Bowling Coach for the National Men’s Team, Sri Lanka Cricket(SLC) stated.

The appointment is on a short-term basis from December 15 to January 25, 2026.

Malinga will work with national fast bowlers as part of preparations for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026.

The tournament, co-hosted by Sri Lanka and India, begins on February 7, 2026, with the opening match in SCC.
