The Railway Department has restricted all train operations on the Coastal Railway Line up to Weligama until further notice following a derailment incident.
The disruption began yesterday(21) at approximately 2:05 p.m. when a slow train travelling from Matara to Maradana derailed between the Kamburugamuwa and Weligama stations.
The train derailed a second time after being placed back on the tracks.
Efforts to re-rail the train are currently underway, meaning services from Colombo will terminate at Weligama.
