The Sri Lanka Computer Emergency Readiness Team (SLCERT) has urged the public to be cautious when transferring money online for disaster relief, warning of ongoing scams.
Senior Technical Engineer Charuka Damunupola said several fake websites that defrauded donors of relief funds have been identified and shut down.
He also cautioned the public against fraudulent phone messages claiming prize winnings during the festive season, urging people not to be misled by such scams.
