The Cabinet has approved a joint proposal submitted by the Labour Minister, the Women and Child Affairs Minister, and the Rural Development, Social Security and Community Empowerment Minister to implement the National Action Plan on Social Protection for 2026-2035. The National Social Protection Policy was approved by the Cabinet in 2024. The National Social Protection Strategy, prepared to put that Policy into practice, was submitted to the Cabinet meeting held on 15 September of last year (2025). The Cabinet subsequently decided to instruct all relevant Ministry Secretaries to take the necessary steps to work in line with the Strategy. The Strategy is based on four main pillars: social assistance, care and insurance, and the labour market and productive inclusion. The Plan has been prepared as the mechanism for putting this Strategy into practice.
