Minister of Sports Sunil Kumara Gamage stated that the government is considering appointing an interim committee to administer Sri Lanka Cricket.
He noted that discussions are currently underway with the International Cricket Council to ensure any move will not result in a ban on Sri Lanka Cricket.
The Minister stated that a framework for the proposed changes is being prepared with the involvement of President Anura Kumara Dissanayake.
He noted that a decision on the matter is expected within the next one to two weeks.
Gamage also stated that a decision on the upcoming Afghanistan cricket series, scheduled in the UAE, will be made within two days amid tensions in the Middle East.
