The Department of Meteorology has issued an Amber advisory for heavy rain affecting the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central and North Western provinces, and Galle and Matara districts.

The advisory, issued at 7.00 a.m. today (22), will remain in effect until 7.00 a.m. tomorrow (23).

Rainfall exceeding 100 mm is expected at times in the affected areas.
