The Department of Meteorology has issued an Amber advisory for heavy rain in the Western, Central, Sabaragamuwa, Southern and Uva provinces, and Batticaloa and Ampara districts.

The advisory is in effect until 8.30 a.m. tomorrow (16).

Rainfall exceeding 100 mm is expected at some locations in the affected areas.
