Dr. Sanjeewa Thennakoon has been re-elected as the President of the Government Medical Officers’ Association (GMOA), securing a strong majority in the latest union elections.

Dr. Prabath Sugathadasa was also re-elected as the Secretary of the GMOA.

The election, held on 28 June, saw Dr. Thennakoon’s group won over 60% of the votes, reaffirming their leadership within the powerful medical union.
