Minister of Health Dr. Nalinda Jayatissa has warned that Sri Lanka's hospital system could come under severe strain if dengue cases continue to rise.
Addressing the Beruwala Divisional Coordination Committee meeting, he stressed that eliminating mosquito breeding sites by keeping homes and public spaces clean remains the most effective short-term measure to curb the spread of dengue.
The minister urged both the public and institutions to take responsibility, warning that an uncontrolled surge in cases could overwhelm hospitals and disrupt patient care.
