The Sri Lanka Transport Board has generated Rs. 1 billion in revenue within six days during the Sinhala and Tamil New Year period.

Chairman Sajeewa Kanakarathna stated that the income was earned through special transport services for passengers travelling to their hometowns.

He noted that 11 April recorded the highest single-day revenue of Rs. 213 million in the board’s history.
