The Department of Meteorology has issued an Amber advisory for strong winds affecting the Northern, North-Central and North-Western provinces, as well as the Matale, Hambantota and Trincomalee districts.

The advisory is valid until 11.00 a.m. tomorrow(19), with winds of 40–50 kmph expected at times due to active south-west monsoon conditions.

The public has been advised to remain vigilant and follow further updates issued by the Department of Meteorology.
