The Cabinet has approved the construction of the Rambukkana–Galagedara section of the Central Expressway at an estimated cost of Rs. 112 billion.
The project will be fully funded by the government.
Cabinet approval was also granted to award seven construction contracts under the second phase of the third stage of the Central Expressway project covering the stretch from chainage 13+800 km to 32+450 km.
The contracts will be awarded to selected local contractors through the National Competitive Bidding process.
