The Cabinet of Ministers has approved a proposal by the Minister of Port, Civil Aviation to publish a new Bill in the Government Gazette and submit it to Parliament. 

The Bill aims to introduce new licenses for container depot operators and amend the 1972 license issuance Act for shipping agents, freight forwarders, general operators other than vessel operators, and container operators. 

This move follows the Cabinet's initial decision on 18 December 2024 to prepare the legislation, which has since received clearance from the Attorney General.
