Sri Lanka Railways has temporarily suspended train services between Kandy and Peradeniya due to ground subsidence beneath a section of the track.

As a result, the transport of parcels on the Kandy and Matale lines has also been halted until further notice.

Officials from the National Building Research Organisation (NBRO) are inspecting the affected area, while SLTB buses have been arranged to support passenger transit between the two stations.
