Sri Lanka has recorded a sharp rise in dengue cases, with 53,159 infections reported so far this year, the National Dengue Control Unit (NDCU) said.
In June alone, 19,318 cases were reported by 28 June, with 31 deaths confirmed this year.
Authorities have identified 124 Medical Officer of Health (MOH) divisions as high-risk dengue zones.
The Western Province accounts for the highest number of cases, with 27,833 infections.
