The Vatican has appointed Most Rev. Anton Ranjith Pillainayagam as the new Bishop of the Diocese of Jaffna.

He previously served as Auxiliary Bishop of the Archdiocese of Colombo and Apostolic Administrator of the Diocese of Batticaloa.
