Sri Lanka’s para athlete team returned home this morning (7) after securing two bronze medals at the Para World Championships in New Delhi, India.

Nuwan Indika won a bronze in the long jump with a leap of 6.46 metres.

Pradeep Somasiri claimed the second bronze in the 1,500-metre event, also setting a new Asian record. 

The team was welcomed at the airport by officials from the Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs and the Sri Lanka Paralympic Committee.
