Former Cabinet Minister Jagath Pushpakumara has been arrested by the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC) over alleged corruption-related offences.
He is scheduled to be produced before the Colombo Chief Magistrate’s Court.
According to CIABOC, the allegations relate to the alleged misuse of funds at state-owned plantation companies during the 2013–2015 election periods, including the printing of campaign material and the purchase of clothing without following proper procedures.
