Gold and silver recovered during Sri Lanka’s civil war have been officially handed over to Acting IGP Priyantha Weerasuriya.

The handover took place at Army Headquarters in Battaramulla.

The National Gem and Jewellery Authority will now transfer the items to the Central Bank of Sri Lanka (CBSL) for valuation.

The Sri Lanka Army confirmed that the valuables will be returned to rightful owners upon proof of identity and ownership.
