Since February 2024, 12,918 traffic violators have been identified through Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) monitoring in Colombo. 

The Sri Lanka Police, in collaboration with Prima Management Services, introduced a new 'Traffic Violation Management Software' to streamline the process of handling offences.

Accordingly, the software allows officers to quickly log offences by entering the vehicle number and type of violation, sending fine details to the relevant police station. 

It also supports updates in all three official languages and ensures offences remain in the system until legal proceedings are resolved, promoting transparency.

Police plan to expand CCTV coverage to improve traffic monitoring and support crime investigations.
