Former First Lady Shiranthi Rajapaksa left Sri Lanka for Singapore early this morning (16) to receive medical treatment.
She departed Bandaranaike International Airport at around 1.10 a.m. on Singapore Airlines flight SQ-469, accompanied by a relative.
Rajapaksa was admitted to a private hospital in Colombo yesterday (15) after reportedly falling ill and was taken directly to the airport from the hospital.
Police reportedly informed her shortly before the flight’s departure that she is required to appear before the Police Financial Crimes Investigation Division (FCID) on 24 September.
