The Election Commission has requested candidates contesting in the 2024 Presidential Election to avoid using plastic and polythene in their campaigns. 

This request aligns with the Ministry of Environment’s guidelines and the ban introduced in September 2017. 

Accordingly, the announcement follows the submission of nominations by 39 candidates today (15).
