A section of the Kandy–Jaffna A9 Road at the 7th Mile Post (7 Kanuwa) in Kurugoda will be temporarily closed from 10.00 p.m. today (22) until 2.00 a.m. tomorrow (23).

Police stated that the closure is required to recover and remove the trailer of a prime mover involved in a fatal accident in the area on 19 October.

Motorists are advised to use alternative routes via Katugastota, Madawala, Wattegama, Ukuwela and Alwala.

Light vehicles travelling towards Kandy may also use Alawathugoda, Owissa, Pujapitiya and Ambathenna to reach Katugastota.
