Nihal Abeysinghe, Member of Parliament (MP) representing the National People’s Power (NPP), has been elected as the Chairman of the Sectoral Oversight Committee on Health, Media and Women’s Empowerment.

The election took place during the Committee’s inaugural meeting for the Tenth Parliament, held on Thursday (22) at the parliamentary complex. Abeysinghe’s name was proposed by Deputy Minister Muneer Mulaffer and seconded by MP Samanmali Gunasinghe.

The Parliamentary Communications Department confirmed that all members of the committee were present for the session.
