Sri Lanka signs debt relief deal with Belgium’s Credendo

Sri Lanka has signed a bilateral agreement with CREDENDO, Belgium’s Export Credit Agency, to reschedule external debt amounting to 9.6 million euros.


The Ministry of Finance, Planning and Economic Development stated that the agreement forms part of Sri Lanka’s ongoing external debt restructuring process.


The agreement was signed by Finance Ministry Secretary Dr. Harshana Suriyapperuma on behalf of Sri Lanka and CREDENDO CEO Dirk Terweduwe.


The Ministry noted that the deal will support debt sustainability and strengthen bilateral relations between Sri Lanka and Belgium.
